I'm currently an editor and reviewer at Cubed3, a gaming news and reviews site that also posts opinion pieces, pre-release previews, interviews, tech reviews, anime reviews, movie reviews and plenty more.
It has been running for about 13 years and is completely self-run. Everyone that writes for the site does so voluntarily, and nobody gets paid - we simply do it because we enjoy it and it's fun. Cubed3 isn't a major site in the same well-known league as other big name game sites, but we are an influential and established one that is ranked on review aggregator sites and gets pre-release and post-release games for preview and review purposes, including from major publishers. We pride ourselves on honest and informative reviews that use a 10-point review scale fully.
Cubed3 will be launching a much new and improved website in the next few months, so please forgive any current overcrowdedness or issues.
We are always on the lookout for new faces to join our team, whether it is to focus on one area of the site, or help out with multiple things. Everyone on the team tries to chip in where they can, be it news, reviews, previews or anything else.
If you are interested in writing for us, fancy yourself a good English writer with a passion for games, and understand all roles are unpaid and voluntary, we would love to hear from you.
Please drop an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org and provide the following information:
Your name; your location; systems owned (including region, e.g. EU or US); any examples of written work you think may enhance your application; any further information you feel is relevant in us deciding to bring you aboard.
We cannot guarantee positions, but we are always more than happy to give anyone that expresses their interest the chance to give it a go, and we can move on from there. Even if you aren't interested, if you think you may know someone that would be, do let them know and get them to drop me an email.
